Relevance of Truth in the age of Instant Noodles

The current age (Kali Yuga) can be called as the age of “Instant Noodles”, where Noodles is a metaphor for things people want instantly in their life like money, name, fame etc. But they know that, though they can cook the Noodles instantly, to get the “Real Noodles” (money, name, fame etc.)  in a short time, that too in a fair way and by following the path of Truth, is a difficult task. Because, this path may not give them instant results. So they tread the path of falsehood for getting them in the shortest possible time and invite troubles through bad karma. But little do they know, that with little patience, they can get whatever they desire by the power of Truth alone. That’s why the Upanishad says-

"Satyameva Jayate" (सत्यमेव जयते)

This verse from the “Mundaka Upanishad” is the National Motto of India. It tells us that – Truth alone triumphs; Not falsehood (satyameva jayate nānṛtaṁ).

The Shiva Purana also emphasizes upon the path of Truth and tells that one gets everything he desires through Truth.

In Shiva Purana, Rishi Sanatkumar says to Rishi Vyas –

Satya or Truth is Para-Brahma (beyond the universal self), Truth is best among austerities (Parama Tapah), Truth is the best Yagna (vedic sacred sacrificial fire ritual) and Truth is the best knowledge of the Shastras (holy texts).

In the body of the sleeping man, the Truth only awakes; Truth is the ultimate abode; the Earth is sustained by the power of Truth and everything is established by the power of Truth.

Tapah (austerities), Yagna, Punya (merits), worship of the Devas, Rishis and Pitrus, Jal (Water) and Vidya (Knowledge) all these are established through Truth.

Truth is the base of all things. Truth is Yagna, Tapah, Daana (Charity), Mantra, Saraswati Devi (Goddess of Speech and Knowledge) and Brahmacharya (Celibacy).

Omkar is a form of Truth.

By the power of Truth the air flows, Sun produces heat, fire is able to burn and the Heaven is sustained.

By the practice of Truth one gets the results of following all the Vedas and merits of taking bath in all the Tirthas (places of pilgrimage).

If one weighs Truth in one side and merits of performing one thousand Ashwamedha Yagnas along with one lakh Yagnas on the other, then Truth will be heavier.

The Devas, Pitrus (ancestral souls), Men, Nagas, Rakshasas and all the Lokas (abodes) along with all their inhabitants are pleased by Truth.

Truth is told to be the Parama Dharma (best deed to be practiced). Truth is the supreme abode and Truth is told to be the Parabrahma Paramatma (Supreme Soul).

"One gets everything he desires through Truth, there is no doubt in it. Therefore one must always speak the Truth."

Time has come for us to realize that, the way of getting "Instant Noodles" can affect our lives negatively. It can be harmful for our health (physical, mental, social and spiritual). So it is better to follow the ancient time-tested way to get "Noodles". The sooner we realize the above wisdom, the better it is for our future growth and evolution.
